National Moth Week (NMW) is held annually worldwide during the last full week of July and celebrates the beauty, life cycles, and habitats of moths around the world. We celebrated NMW in St. Michael High School, Ayan Singampatti on 22nd July 2024. Around 40 students from the hostel from 1st to 10th standard, students from Kerala Digital University (KDU) have participated in the event. We gave a small introduction about ATREE and its work in the landscape followed by a moth introduction such as the difference between moths and butterflies, ecology and behaviors of moths, and the importance of citizen science in moth research. The students identified moths using the Common Moths of Tamil Nadu pocket guide. Since this is windy season we have observed only around 12 species of moths. We observed moths from Geometridae, Crambidae, Limacodidae, Pterophoridae, Noctuidae and Erebidae. Species such as Aegocera venulia, Olepa ricini, Spoladea recurvalis, Sameodes cancellalis, Marasmia poeyalis,  Scopula sp., etc. Once after the observation we advised the students to observe the moths and other biodiversity around them and upload in citizen science portal like iNaturalist, Indian Biodiversity Portal, etc.,
